La Loggia
This 13th-century country house in the hills east of Lucca offers panoramic views across olive groves and vineyards. With its historic open loggia and private pool, La Loggia provides a peaceful Tuscan retreat.
Tuscan Stone meets Valley Views
La Loggia sits amongst olive groves and vineyards on the hills east of Lucca, where a 13th-century stone house meets thoughtful restoration. The property combines a historic main house with a separate guest house, accommodating up to 13 guests across carefully appointed spaces. Just 3km from the nearest village and less than 30 minutes from Lucca's centre, the location balances accessibility with the peace of the Tuscan countryside.

Description
The main house sleeps seven across three distinct suites. On the ground floor, the master bedroom features a four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom complete with Jacuzzi tub. Upstairs, two suite-style bedrooms offer flexible arrangements: one with a double and single bed, the other with twin beds, both with private bathrooms. The guest house adds three independent apartments, each with its own bedroom, living area and outdoor dining space. Air conditioning is available throughout the guest house bedrooms. For groups of nine guests, two of the apartments stay closed, allowing smaller parties to enjoy complete privacy and exclusive access to the pool and garden.
At the heart of La Loggia, an open loggia frames panoramic valley views that define the property. This covered terrace has become the natural gathering point for meals and evening drinks, with the Tuscan landscape providing an ever-changing backdrop. The private swimming pool shares these same rolling hill views, surrounded by landscaped gardens. A well-equipped kitchen supports both self-catering and the option of a private cook who can prepare traditional Tuscan dishes on request.
Days here move between poolside relaxation and exploring the surrounding countryside. The nearby village provides shops and restaurants for provisioning or dining out, while Lucca's historic streets lie within easy reach for day trips. Golf enthusiasts will find courses nearby. Evenings naturally gravitate back to the loggia, where the architect-owner's careful restoration shows in every preserved detail, from period furniture to the original stone walls that have watched over this valley for centuries.
