Tuscan stones with Architect's soul
Just a few kilometres from Montalcino, this architect-designed villa offers a peaceful retreat in one of Tuscany's most celebrated wine regions. The owner, a respected Italian architect and interior designer, restored this stone farmhouse with careful attention to traditional Tuscan elements whilst incorporating his own furniture designs alongside selected antiques. Its quiet hillside position provides sweeping views across the Val d'Orcia and Crete Senesi, landscapes that have captivated visitors for centuries.

Description
Inside, spacious sitting areas and a large dining table create natural gathering spots for groups. The main farmhouse connects to a guesthouse, with bedrooms spread across both buildings. Air conditioning in all first-floor bedrooms keeps things comfortable during summer months, with two portable units available for other areas. The well-equipped kitchen handles everything from morning espresso to elaborate dinners, whilst the thoughtful mix of custom-designed and antique furnishings has earned features in various interior design publications.
The property includes a private pool positioned to make the most of those Tuscan views, plus a barbecue area for outdoor dining. For larger groups, additional external bedrooms with fans (not air-conditioning) can be rented, increasing capacity to 18 guests. The standard layout, however, already suits groups of various sizes comfortably. Internet access throughout keeps everyone connected when needed.
The location places you within easy reach of Tuscany's highlights. Castello Banfi sits just five minutes away, where cellar tours, wine tastings and excellent restaurants await. Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza and San Gimignano all make rewarding day trips, whilst Florence remains accessible for those seeking Renaissance art. The village of Montalcino offers local restaurants and markets for provisioning or dining out when the mood strikes.
