Le Alice is the quiet one, smaller and calmer, tucked into les Fermes de Val a few steps from the slopes. Its living room rises into the roof, one wall almost all glass, the mountains filling it. Old wood and stone throughout, light through the whole floor. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, under the beams.
Description
The lounge gathers around a stone fireplace, deep sofas turned to the view and the dining table under low lamps. The four bedrooms each have their own bathroom, most set as a king or twins. The main one sits up under the eaves with the view. The bathrooms have baths, not just showers.
The spa is a proper one for a chalet this size: a heated indoor pool under an arched window, a hammam, and a massage room of its own. The kitchen is modern, ceramic hobs and a full run of appliances with a Nespresso machine. A ski room with a locker and boot warmers takes the kit by the door, skis fitted there rather than in a queue at a shop. There is a garage for the cars.
Les Fermes de Val stays calm and out of the way, the village centre a short walk off, with 300 kilometres of the Espace Killy from the door. Le Alice comes on the Comfort package: a private concierge, a welcome basket, beds made and firewood in, and ski equipment fitted at the chalet. Breakfasts and dinners cooked by the chefs can be added. Winter stays run Saturday to Saturday, late November to early May, open again in July and August.
