Villa Ghis

The main villa spans three floors and sleeps up to twelve guests across six bedrooms. On the ground floor, an open-plan living and dining room connects to a living kitchen, guest bathroom, laundry room and a central loggia where you can dine indoors while still feeling close to the outdoors. The first floor holds a master double and two twin bedrooms, a mezzanine twin with a working area, a living room with TV, two bathrooms and a balcony. Lake views come with most rooms.

Up on the second floor, you will find a double and a twin bedroom, both overlooking the lake and park, plus a bathroom and balcony. Worth noting: the bathroom is accessed through the twin bedroom. A separate guesthouse with its own entrance sleeps four more, with a twin and a double bedroom across two floors, each with its own bathroom, kitchenette and living area. The upper floor of the guesthouse has lake views. The whole villa has been recently restored, furnished with a thoughtful mix of period and modern pieces.

Villa Ghis is located in Baveno, roughly a five-minute walk from the lake itself. A 15m by 6m swimming pool sits within the grounds, and a maid service runs daily except Tuesdays. From Baveno, you can rent boats to visit the Isole Borromee, browse local shops or take in Piazza della Chiesa. Milan and Como are both just over an hour's drive away, making day trips easy to fit in between slow afternoons by the pool or wandering the gardens.
