El Olivo Mio is on Placa de Vila, the main square inside the walls of Dalt Vila in Ibiza Town. It cooks Mediterranean food with an Italian lean, and it puts its tables out on the square, which is what the evening is really about.
The square is the busiest part of the old town after dark. Acrobats, dancers and musicians work it through the summer, and dinner here is a seat at that rather than an escape from it.
What to know
Ask for a terrace table. The inside room is pleasant and entirely different, and people are occasionally disappointed to be seated in it.
Dinner only, from around six, and the kitchen runs late.
It is seasonal, and the Dalt Vila restaurants generally reopen around Easter.
Getting there
Dalt Vila is pedestrian, so the walk up from Plaça Reina Sofia through the tunnel takes a few minutes on cobbles, or a taxi can drop you at the Portal de ses Taules.
Flat shoes. The ramps are stone and polished by centuries of feet.
