Es Niu Blau is a small beach a few minutes north of Santa Eulalia where dense Mediterranean pine forest comes right down to the water. The shore is fine natural sand broken by sections of pebble and rock, and the trees give it something most Ibizan beaches do not have, which is real shade by the middle of the afternoon.
It is a modest beach rather than a spectacular one, and that is roughly the appeal. People come here to spend a day rather than to photograph it.
What is there
A restaurant above the sand, and free parking behind the beach, which gets complicated at the height of summer. Sunbeds in season.
The water is calm and shallow at the edge, and the rock at either end is worth a look with a mask.
The shade

Worth planning around. The pines at the back of the beach put the rear third into shade for much of the afternoon, and on a July day that is the difference between staying and leaving at two.
It also means the beach cools earlier than the open ones on the south coast, so bring something over your shoulders for the late afternoon.
