Golden Buddha: a Balinese terrace on the sunset coast

Oct 9, 2026Author: One of a Kind Travel2 min

A Balinese-styled terrace on the San Antonio sunset coast, with loungers facing west and late hours in season.

Golden Buddha sits at Calo des Moro on the San Antonio sunset strip. It is built as a Balinese pavilion, with carved wood, low loungers and a terrace facing due west at the water.

The menu is broad rather than deep, with Spanish, Mexican and Indian dishes alongside sharing plates and cocktails. Nobody comes here for the cooking alone, and the kitchen knows it.

The sunset

That is the product. The terrace is stepped so most tables see the water, but the front row of loungers is a different experience from the back, and they go early.

Arrive well before sunset. An hour is not too much in July. Our team can tell you what time the sun goes down in the week you are here, which moves by well over an hour across the season.

When it is open

Through most of the year, with late hours in season running towards two in the morning. Winter hours are not published reliably, so check before making the trip out of season.

Good to know

It is on the strip, so the neighbours are doing the same thing and the noise carries.

It is a walk from San Antonio town along the front, or a short taxi.

Book for sunset. Walking up at eight in August does not work.
