La Bodega is on Carrer Bisbe Torres Mayans, right where the ramp starts climbing into Dalt Vila in Ibiza Town. It has been there since 2005, it serves Spanish tapas and wine, and it makes its own hierbas, the island's herb liqueur.
It is small, the doors open at six, and by half past there is usually a queue along the pavement waiting for one of the handful of tables inside.
What to know
No lunch. Evenings only, and it runs late.
No booking. You wait, and the wait is part of the evening.
Mondays to Saturdays.
The walls carry art and there is usually music playing, which makes the wait a good deal more tolerable than it sounds.
What to order
Tapas rather than a meal: jamon, padron peppers, tortilla, whatever is chalked up. The wine list is short and Spanish.
Finish with the house hierbas, which is made on the premises and is stronger than it tastes.
