La Oliva: a terrace on the Dalt Vila square

Oct 9, 2026Author: One of a Kind Travel2 min

A long-running Mediterranean kitchen on a small square inside the old town walls, with the tables out on the stone.

La Oliva is on Carrer de la Santa Creu, on one of the small squares inside the Dalt Vila walls in Ibiza Town. It has been there a long time, it cooks Mediterranean food with a Provencal lean, and the reason to book is the terrace rather than the room.

Dinner only. The old town does not really do lunch in the summer, and neither does this.

What it is like

Tables on the stone of the square, under the walls, with the cathedral above. In summer the square fills with street performers, so it is a lively dinner rather than a quiet one.

The kitchen does roast and braised meat and whole fish, cooked plainly. The terrace is worth asking for when you book, because the inside room is a different evening.

Getting there

Dalt Vila is pedestrian. Taxis stop at the Portal de ses Taules or at Plaça Reina Sofia, and it is a few minutes uphill on cobbles from either.

Wear shoes you can walk up a ramp in.

Good to know

Evenings only, roughly from six.

Book the terrace specifically.

Check it is open before you go. Some listings still carry an old closure notice, and our team can confirm on the day.
