Sa Trinxa: the far end of Ses Salines

Oct 9, 2026Author: One of a Kind Travel2 min

The last bar along Ses Salines beach, on the sand rather than above it, and known for the music rather than the sunbeds.

Sa Trinxa sits at the far end of Ses Salines, past all the other bars, on the last stretch of sand before the rocks. It is a low wooden building with tables on the beach and a DJ booth, and it has been the island's least formal beach bar for decades.

The difference from the rest of the coast is the volume and the dress. Nobody is doing anything here except swimming, drinking and listening, and the music is the reason people walk the length of the beach to reach it rather than stopping at the first bar they pass.

What it is like

Sand underfoot rather than decking, a short menu, cocktails, and a DJ playing from the early afternoon. Sunbeds are along the beach in front rather than arranged in ranks.

It is a bar rather than a restaurant. There is food, and food is not the reason to be here.

Getting there

Park at Ses Salines and walk. It is ten to fifteen minutes along the sand from the main car park, which is the filter that keeps it as it is, and there is no closer approach.

The natural park around it means nothing has been built behind the beach, so the walk is dunes and juniper rather than a promenade.

When to come

Afternoon into early evening. It starts slowly, fills through the afternoon and is at its best around six, and it closes far earlier than the clubs do.

The season runs roughly May to October. Out of those months the beach is empty and the bar is shut.
