The Orange Tree: two months in the Atzaro garden

Atzaro's garden restaurant, open for two months of the year under a pergola of palms and jasmine.

The Orange Tree is the summer restaurant at Atzaro, the agriturismo hotel on the San Juan road inland from Santa Eulalia. It sits in the gardens under a pergola of palms, vines and jasmine, and it opens for July and August only.

That two-month window is the thing to plan around. Outside it, Atzaro's dining moves to the Veranda restaurant on the same estate.

The food

Mediterranean, built on what the estate's own garden produces, which is a real claim here rather than a line on a menu, since the hotel sits in thirteen hectares of orange grove and farmland.

Dinner only, nightly through the two months.

What else happens there

Flamenco on Wednesdays and Saturdays.Cinema in the garden on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both are the reason to pick a night rather than take whatever is free.

The grounds are worth arriving early for, and the spa on the same site runs daily yoga and wellness classes open to visitors.

Good to know

Book well ahead. Two months of service and a reputation as the island's romantic dinner means tables go early.

It is inland, about twenty minutes from Santa Eulalia and forty from Ibiza Town.
