Akasha: the club inside Las Dalias

A club in the grounds of the Las Dalias market at San Carlos, open Friday to Sunday, and nothing like the big rooms on the coast.

Akasha sits in the grounds of Las Dalias, the Saturday market at San Carlos, and it opened in 2021. It runs Friday to Sunday nights, roughly from ten until three, and it is about as far from the Playa d'en Bossa rooms as the island gets while still being a club.

The difference is where it came from. Las Dalias has been a market and a bar since the sixties, and Akasha grew out of that rather than out of the club scene, which shows in the room, the crowd and the hours.

What it is like

Small by Ibizan standards, built into the market site with its trees, lanterns and courtyards rather than in a purpose-built shed. The programming leans towards the deeper and more eclectic end rather than the main-room sound.

It finishes at three, which on Ibiza counts as early and means it works as an evening rather than a night.

Getting there

San Carlos is fifteen minutes inland from Santa Eulalia and about forty from Ibiza Town, and there is parking in the fields around the market. There is no discobus route that serves it usefully, so this is a taxi or a designated driver.

Combining it with the market

On a Saturday the market runs through the day and the night market runs Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings in summer. Either makes an easy evening to build around: market, dinner in the village, then the club on the same site.
