Formentera has one nightclub. That is the honest starting point. What the island has instead is sunset bars on the sand, long dinners and a slow drift into Es Pujols, finishing at an hour that would count as early on Ibiza.
If you are staying on Ibiza, the ferry decides everything, so start there.
The ferry, which sets your curfew
Crossings run all day between Ibiza and Formentera, and the last one back is what sets the shape of the evening. In high summer it goes into the small hours, around half past one. Out of season it can be as early as ten, which turns a dinner into a sprint.
Operators differ by an hour or more on the same evening, so check the one you are travelling with rather than the timetable generally. Our advisors can sort the crossing out with the restaurant booking.
Sunset on the west coast

The evening starts on the sand. Blue Bar on Migjorn is the long-standing one, low and white with the sound system pointed at the water. KM11, further along the same beach, carries on what the old Piratabus was doing: it traded under that name from the seventies until 2024 and it is the same stretch of shore.
Beso Beach at Cala Saona and Gecko on Migjorn are the more polished versions of the same idea, with kitchens attached and tables to book.
Es Pujols after dinner

Es Pujols is the only village on Formentera with a proper strip, and it is where the evening goes once the sun has gone. Bananas & Co, Bouganville and Pachanka are the bars people move between, all within a few minutes of each other on foot.
Club Tipic is the island's one club. It opened in 1971, when Formentera had barely three thousand inhabitants, and it runs nightly from midnight until six with a terrace and a bar outside the room.
What it is not
There is no Ibiza-scale club, no superstar residency and no discobus. Music finishes earlier and the sound limits are tighter, and most of the island is asleep by one.
That is the appeal for most people who come. It is also worth knowing before you plan a night around it.
