Roca Llisa is a gated residential estate on the east coast between Ibiza Town and Santa Eulalia, built in the early 1970s around what is still the only golf course on Ibiza. It is houses, fairways and a handful of small coves below, and there is no village attached to it.
Everything about it follows from that. It is quiet, it is green in a way most of the island is not, and it asks you to drive for shopping, dinner and any beach bigger than a cove.
The golf
Golf Ibiza opened here in 1972 and is the island's only course. There are two layouts on the same site, an eighteen-hole and a nine-hole, running through pine and between the houses. Visitors can play, and it is one of the few things on Ibiza that works just as well in February as in July.
What is below it

The estate sits above the coast, and the path down leads to Cala Olivera, a cove of about thirty metres with one wooden bar and nothing else. It is small enough that a dozen people fill it.
For a proper beach, Cala Llonga is ten minutes north and Talamanca about the same south, with Ibiza Town just beyond.
Good to know before you book
There is nothing inside the estate. No shop, no bar, no restaurant beyond the golf clubhouse. Plan on driving.
It is central for the east coast. Ibiza Town is fifteen minutes, Santa Eulalia fifteen the other way, the airport twenty.
The grounds are quiet. No passing traffic and no music, which is the reason people take houses here rather than on the coast.
