Terra Masia is fifty-six hectares of farmland in the middle of Santa Eulalia, and it is the largest certified organic farm on Ibiza. Start with what it is not: this is a working farm with an events side, not a restaurant you drive to for lunch.
The land carries vegetables and fruit trees, olives and vines, aromatic herbs and edible flowers, alongside free-range hens. It is farmed organically and biodynamically, an approach the estate has followed since the 1970s, long before the island had a word for it.
What comes off the land
Vegetables and salad leaves are the bulk of it, with eggs, herbs and spices behind them, plus infusions and a gin. A good deal of it goes straight to kitchens around the island rather than to a shop.
There is also a farm box, delivered, for anyone staying long enough to cook. If you are in a villa for a fortnight this is the easiest way to eat well without a supermarket run.
Eating there
The restaurant opened in 2018, after a restoration that took two years. Through the summer the farm runs field dinners with guest chefs, laid out among the growing beds, and will build a menu around the produce for a larger group.
None of this works as a walk-in. Dates are limited, the dinners are announced ahead, and tables go. Ask our team to look at what is scheduled for the week you are here.
Why it matters
Ibiza imports most of what it eats. A farm of this size, certified and growing year-round a few minutes from Santa Eulalia, is the exception rather than the rule, and it is why several of the island's farm-to-table kitchens can make that claim honestly.
Our round-up of farm restaurants covers the places that cook this way.
