The Ibiza hotspots worth your time in 2026

What actually changed on the island this year, from a castle that became a hotel to a club that became another one.

Ibiza turns over faster than almost any island in Europe, and a guide written three years ago will send you to at least one locked door. These are the changes for 2026, worth checking before you rebook anywhere you went last time, because several of the names below have moved, closed or become something else entirely.

The castle became a hotel

The Castell d'Eivissa opened on 10 March 2026 as the Parador de Eivissa, after a restoration that began in 2009. Sixty-six rooms inside the Almudaina and castle complex at the top of Dalt Vila.

The catch is that the interior is no longer free to walk into. It is a hotel, so access is for guests and booked tours. The walls, the ramps and the terraces are still open to everyone.

The clubs moved around

UNVRS opened on the old Privilege site on 30 May 2025 and took the DJ Mag top spot in its first year. The building was rebuilt rather than demolished, and Privilege's dome still stands over it.

Destino is now Destino Five Ibiza after FIVE Holdings bought Pacha Group, and it refurbished over the winter.

Defected moved its residency to Club Chinois for 2026, running Thursdays. If you are looking for it where it used to be, it is not there.

Things that closed

The Underground was sealed by the council in 2024 and has not reopened. Utopia at Calo des Moltons is gone for good, the cove reclassified as undeveloped, so there are now no facilities there at all.

La Granja at San Mateo is permanently closed, and Cas Gasi reopened in 2025 as a members' club.

What is worth booking

Casa Jondal took best chiringuito of 2026, and the tables go weeks ahead.

Hambre in Santa Eulalia picked up a Guia Repsol listing, cooking off the town market.

Atzaro relaunched its spa for 2026 around longevity treatments, and the wellness studio is open to visitors rather than hotel guests only.

Racó Verd in San Jose turned fifty in May 2026 and still runs free live music twice a week.
